IMDB.com is one of the largest on-line resource that provides free and subscription-based information on Movie and TV productions and people. As a fee-based provider, IMDB.com is held to a reasonable level of accuracy and performance.
Recently, IMDB.com has ignored the abuse of their system and guidelines to allow the unwarranted cancellation of legitimate film and TV listings.
The cancellation policies of the IMDB.com listing service has negatively affected a great many film and TV projects due to the inconsistent and unprotected management of the IMDB database.
Since October 2006 Dante's Inferno has been listed on IMDB.com as a film in pre-production. Since that time its ratings were among the highest for its category( insert more specific..) Without any attempt to contact the producer, Boris Acosta and with no warning, IMDB removed this listing from its database. It was, it seems, the efforts of one or several people who for personal reasons sought to damage the marketing efforts of this film.
This is only a one case that has been made public, however, there too many legitimate productions that have been rejected by this newcomer in the film industry called Imdb.

I'd love to see your blog gather more life.
IMDB has pissed me off twice in one day.
1. This morning I discovered that a few of my films (that I wrote & directed) had their ratings sink from 9 point something to 1 point something. All because one person went in to rate my films a 1.
IMDB ignores many of the high ratings because they think friends and family of the filmmakers are trying to give it an artificially high rating. They pay no mind that people who rate films a 1 are trying to give it an artificially low rating.
I don't even care about the person who rated my films a 1. I'm angry that IMDB, in attempts to be "fair" skews their data so much that it is way more unfair.
2. I have discovered that while poster services for films are still $35 (a bit of a rip off but whatever) that now you cannot just upload a photo for your own personal page without having to have the subscription service. Instead of paying a one time fee of $35, you now have to pay $55 a year to have your photo on your page. So I could end up spending hundreds or thousands of dollars just to keep one photo on my page. OK, sure I could end up changing my photo in a few years and I'd spend $35 again. But paying $35 once every few years is still much cheaper than $55 every year.
They are such extortionists and suck money from performers/artists because they can.
As a sound effects editor and sound designer, I often work on projects that, while not pornographic, they are of the nature that I would rather not have the "world" knowing of my participation.
I would happily refer people to my imdb 'page' to have them see the scope of films and television shows I work -- were it not for a certain title that appears on my 'page'.
Try as I might, they will NOT remove - at my request - this title, despite the fact that I wasn't even the one who posted it under my 'page'.
Apparently, you are on the opposite side of the same coin. And for that, this "business we call 'show'" continues to make me wish for work as a Wal-Mart greeter. (Except I don't speak spanish, which now is a requirement!)
IMDB is an AMAZON company. The company has been engaged in all sorts of ILLEGAL activity. Also, they are not supporting freedom of religion (not that I am religious, but damn, if somebody wants to buy a book based on their faith there, they should be able to) and they have also given Gays a hard time.
I recently had to experience their abuse of power when I questioned their undemocratic policy to only allow users to add Awards from CERTAIN festivals to their film's listing. Can you imagine?! Apparently the Human Rights Film Festival my film got a mention at wasn't in their little club of festivals who probably pay them to be featured more. They made up some excuse about it when I wrote to them and guess what?! My film went from Title (I) to Title (IV) even though their FAQs state that they don't change numbers later. it's an obvious bullying tactic, and they wouldn't give me a reason why they did- well, obviously they don't want to say it, but the fact that they did it, and that they can't give me a reason proves everything.
I am boycotting AMAZON, IMDB and WITHOUTABOX now because they are all the same company and I am not going to support their illegal activities.
IMDB sucks balls. I've had problems with them before, but recently they removed on one my titles, even though we're in pre-production and it's been on the site for 4 years.
I despise their arrogant, fuck you attitude and if I could, I'd start my own site just to fuck them.
